It was launched with the explicit mission of improving on some of the key features of 1911-style handguns. It is gas-operated, weighs 1.0 kg, is 220 mm long and has a magazine capacity of 15 rounds. The M1911 MEU uses a 112mm long inner barrel and produces approximately 320 FPS.
