ARO, or the Advanced Rifle Optis, is a new, compact-sized red / green / gold dot sight designed and manufactured by Holosun for use as a primary aiming system with submachine guns, pistol caliber carbines, and full-sized rifles. It is a direct update to the 20 mm 403 and 503 series of red dot sights.
The device offers a newly designed housing that works flawlessly with magnifiers, a Lower 1/3 Co-Witness mount, multiple brightness settings, and a 2 MOA-sized dot with a Multi-Reticle System.

CNC machined from aluminum alloy anodized with a matte coating, ARO weighs 98g and measures 63 x 39 x 67 mm. It is also IP67-rated, making it dust- and water-resistant. Its durable and robust construction secures the sight from falls and kinetic impulses up to 1000g.

The 22mm lens glass is layered in an anti-scratch multi-coating with reflection-nullifying properties. A 2 MOA-sized green dot and a 65-sized circle with a 1/2 MOA adjustment per click are available. The LED emitter offers two NV modes and ten brightness levels. With no parallax, unlimited eye relief, and 50 MOA of windage and elevation adjustment range, ARO guarantees quick and accurate target acquisition in all weather and light conditions.

The power is provided by a single CR2032 battery in a screw-secured tray, which gives it a running time of 50000 hours at a medium brightness setting. It also features rubberized controls and a "Shake Awake" system that helps conserve the battery. The system turns the sight off after a specified time and needs only a slight movement to reactivate the device.

The set includes a low mount, a lower 1/3 Co-Witness mount, a cleaning cloth, and an installation set with keys.
